Boca Raton Boating Guide

How To Rent a Boat in Boca Raton — Complete First-Timer's Guide

First time renting a boat in Boca Raton? Here's everything you need to know — licensing, captain options, what's included, what to bring, and how to skip marketplace fees by booking direct.

Step 1: Decide Captain or Self-Drive

Captained means a USCG-licensed local handles the boat. Self-drive means you do (with our orientation). Captain is best for first-timers, big groups, and special occasions. Self-drive is great for confident boaters who want full freedom.

Step 2: Confirm Florida Boating License

Anyone born on or after January 1, 1988 needs a Florida Boating Safety Education ID Card to operate a boat over 10HP. Easy 3-hour online course. Add a captain to skip the requirement entirely.

Step 3: Pick Your Trip Length

Hourly (2 hours) is great for sunset cruises and quick sandbar runs. Half-day (4 hours) is the most popular — sandbar plus cruise. Full-day (8 hours) gives you the full Lake Boca + Intracoastal + restaurant + sunset loop.

Step 4: Book Direct (Skip Marketplace Fees)

Marketplaces add 20–30% in fees. Book direct at 561-629-1108 — same boat, same captain, lower price, faster confirmation.

Step 5: What To Bring

Sunscreen, towels, swimsuits, snacks, drinks, Bluetooth-ready playlist, and a fully charged phone for photos. We supply boat, gas, cooler, life jackets, and floating mat.

Step 6: Show Up and Enjoy

Arrive 15 minutes early for orientation. We'll walk through controls, the day's route, and tides. Then you're on the water.
